State of the Worlds Girls 2007 Report

The first Because I am a Girl report outlines in detail how girls around the world are getting a raw deal, facing the double discrimination of their gender and their age, and in many societies remaining at the bottom of the social and economic ladder.

It provides a comprehensive examination of the situation of the world’s girls, and warns that six of the eight Millennium Development Goals agreed by world leaders are likely to be missed altogether unless world leaders adopt a tougher stance on the enforcement of international laws set up to protect girl's rights.
